finding group policies that are applied

I dont have the internet explorer custom title bar set in the domain group policy (user config->windows settings->Internet explorer maintenance) , but all the computers in the domain have this set somehow as IE displays the company name. How can I find out where this setting is coming from? I have a feeling there is another policy at work here, as the windows sus server isnt working either..

Thanks

Hello use the command-line based tool gpresult (Included in Windows Server
2003 and Windows XP) to find out where defined settings applies from.

Download gpresult for Windows 2000:

If you have more than one GPO in the domain, then it could be applied from it such as
an OU GPO where users reside. I suppose it could also have been applied via a startup
script at one time in which case you would have to check local Group Policy on the
computers or the appropriate registry setting. You can run gpresult on a computer to
see where policy is being applied from. For more details including exactly what
settings are being applied use the Group Policy Management Console which can be used
on a XP Pro domain member machine to manage a W2K domain. See links below for more
details. --- Steve

**NOTE**

This is also applied/created when you use the IEAK to create a custom
install of IE. My guess is that is why you see it but there is no GPO
setting. This is likely the case for you. If it says IE...provided by
"company name" then it was probably the IEAK.
