Finding game product ID's on my hard drive

I'm rebuilding my son's computer and want to reformat the hard drive.
There are a few of his games (Age of Empires II and a few others) that
will need to be reinstalled. We have the software CD's, but not the
product ID's. Is there a way to find these on the old computer before I
reformat the drive? Thanks.

I think it would depend on the games individually. Always use a
permanent marker to write the CD key on the CD immediately after
buying the CD and before installing the game.

If you really do have the CDs, you can go to gamecopyworld.com and
get no-CD cracks.
