Finding files included in e-mail attachments

Use Windows Mail for e-mails. Use MS WOrd 2007 for documents. Until a couple
of days ago was able to open e-mail attachments for both word documents
(.doc) and images (jpg). However now getting messages advising that file
could not be found or windows cannot find image...jpg. Have not wittingly
done anything to change settings. Any ideas as to how to resovlve this?

This doesn't seem related (directly) to Word, so you may want to ask the
question in a newsgroup that deals with the operating system instead.
