Word e-mail attachments

I have a new PC using Windows XP Home as its OS. I use Internet Explorer
6.0.2900.xxxxxx which includes SP2. My e-mail uses the Outlook Express. The
Windows XP Home version came with "Microsoft Works Word Processor."

When I send word e-mail attachments the recepients cannot open them.

How can I fix this?

Zip them up and send the zips.
