Hi - I replied in another thread with a similar question but I thought I'd elaborate a bit...

basically I want outlook 2007 to tell me in some way when I receive an email from someone who is not already in my Contacts list, so I can decide whether to put them in or not systematically. Currently I think I'm missing lots of potential contacts, as I have to check one-by-one. I've tried getting automatic/conditional formatting to do this - it can highlight messages from specific people but not if the sender is not already in the contacts list. I've tried using rules and alerts to play a sound/display a message/flag/copy to separate folder etc., but I still struggle with telling the rule how to look for these messages (even with exceptions) - a frequent stumbling block is with the sender selection dialogue box. You have to select people one-by one or search on a specific name; you can't say everyone (or at least I don't know how).

ANy tips or helpful hints would be much appreciated

Matt
