Why do I continue to get the message

"findfast.exe Has stopped working"

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close
the program and notify you if a solution is available.

How do I fix it or turn it off? Do I need it?

I thought Office 2000 was the last version of that suite that included
FindFast, a file indexing utility, probably because there has been a
file indexing service since Windows 2000 (I don't remember if pre-2000
NT-based versions of Windows had a file indexing service). So it
looks like you have some remnant of Office 2000, or earlier, when you
upgraded to Office [2003 and then] 2007.

I get no hits if I select "2007 Office Suites" for the product.
That's because FindFast is an old utility from an old version of
Office. It's been too long since I used Office 2000, or earlier, but
do recall that FindFast was the first bit of crap that I made sure did
NOT get installed, got deleted, or go disabled after installing the
old version of Office. I don't use any indexing in any version of
Windows (that is ran as a workstation or desktop).
