What happened to Find > Message in this Folder [Shift F3] that was available
in Outlook Express? I found this a very quick and useful method for
searching in one folder, either just in the headers (ie, sender, subject
etc) or in the headers and the text. It highlighted the first found message
and, using F3, one could quickly move through the succeeding found messages,
read or delete each one as required, see what thread each one was in and
read others in the thread etc and still continue through the folder with F3.
In my case, an oft-used and much-valued facility.

Is it hidden somewhere in Windows Mail?

Using Find Message [Ctrl Shift F] is not as quick or as flexible when one
wants to search in one folder only.

Yes, it does, Gary, but it is a different method from the Shift F3 facility
that was also available in OE. Ctrl Shift F was also available in OE, and I
did use it if I wanted to search multiple folders. But it puts all the
found messages in a separate box, whereas Shift F3 left you in the folder
being searched, and each F3 took you to the next found message. As
mentioned in the earlier post, it was quicker and more flexible that Ctrl
Shift F.

I guess I'll have to assume that it has gone -- what a great pity!
