Find out who created a database

Is there any way for me to find out who created a database? I am responsible
for several front-ends. For the past few weeks, someone has been copying
the files and creating back-ups. I already have a system in place that backs
up the system. I can find out when the file was created by looking at its
properties, but how can I find out who created the files so I can tell them
to stop?

Thank you

You might be able to get their attention by changing the attribute of
the backup file to read only. You could try leaving a text file with a name
that might attract their attention.

Is it the front ends or back ends that are being backed up? If it is a
front end you could add a message box that would provide your message when
it opened up. Back when I was administering a group of shared files I set
up a system that I so I could put my message on the back end file and the
front ends all looked for it when they started and if there they would
display it.

Since they are not likely using Access to do the backup I would guess
that they are using Windows commands to do the copying. You might check
with a Windows newsgroup to see if there is some tracking possible there,
but I don't think so.

Of course, there is the question of why bother at all. Having a second
independent back up procedure is not all that bad.
