Find numbered text

Is there any way to find numbered and bulleted text in a long document?
I have a problem with an OCR program that now and then decides to
replace real numbers with numbered text. I'd like to find all
numbered text fast. The documents are too long to catch them all by
eye.

Hi Bob-

Is this either XP or 2003?

If so, go to Format> Styles & Formatting to turn on the corresponding Task
Pane. Click in any para that has the numbering applied (hopefully ecognized
as a Style), then click the Task Pane button labeled 'Select All'.

Once selected, there is also a Clear Formatting option you can use (top of
list in Task Pane) BUT that will remove the numbers, themselves. If you want
to keep the numbers as text characters in the doc, you might be better to
click the Highlighter button on the Formatting toolbar, instead, so the
numbers remain marked while you edit. Otherwise you'll have to keep clicking
the 'Select All' button after each edit. You can remove the highlighting as
you go or wait and remove it all at once.

I don't know of any means to convert the Numbers to text because they exist
as formatting. There may be a way of automating the process through VBA, but
that's a bit out of my domain. Check back for other replies.

Alas, it's not recognized as a style.

Is there not some way to locate numbered text using Ctrl-F?
