Find e-mails in Outlook 2003

If one adds words to an e-mail subject line before forwarding it onto someone
(in order to give the other person a clue as to why it's being sent), the
problem is when one goes to "Find Items in Inbox," the annotated e-mail is
not found. All of the other e-mails without the revised subject line are
found, but not the revised e-mail. In these instances, should one use Advance
Find instead?

When you change the subject in the original email, do you click yes to save
changes? The whole idea of changing an original email then saving it doesn't
seem right. Why not click forward, then make the changes?

I revised the subject line after clicking forward. However, when I use the
Find Related items feature, it only pulls up the original thread - not my
revised e-mail (with the same subject line, only added some defining words).
I assume I will have to use Advanced Find to find all related e-mails,
correct?

Yes, it looks like the logic behind that Find Related search is simply
searching for the subject on the original message.
You do need to go into advanced and enter more.
