Finalize CD

I keeping seeing the term "finalize cd". I assume that it is automatic in XP
since I can't find any reference to the term. Can someone tell me if there
is a way to control finalizing and not finalizing in Windows XP? I use both
the operating system and Windows Media Player to burn CDs.

Finalizing a burned CD is closing the CD after which you can no longer add
more songs. If you stop the burning without finalizing you can add songs
later but they will not play until finalized. XP I believe finalizes it
automatically
upon completion of burn, but I do not use XP, I use Roxio which asks you if
you want to finalize.
