some website my wife visits installed a whole bunch of little programs on my computer. when i try to delete them i get a message saying that the files cannot be deleted because they're in use. but i cant find out how they're in use or how to turn them off. they're running in the background somewhere. help please!

I would first try and see what those programs are with
this nifty little program: http://www.safer-
networking.org/index.php?page=mirrors
This is Spybot Search and Destroy, which will search your
registry, startup, and files for about 15,000 unwanted
programs. Once the files are found, you have to option to
delete them. Give it a try, it always works for me (and
the best part is that it is freeware).
