Files moving

Good afternoon,

I have a very odd question. We have a laptop computer w/ Windows xp sp2 on
a Windows Server 2003. Shared document files and directories are
accidentally moving or copying to another shared location on the server. I'm
99% certain the laptop is involved & it's a synchronization error. That
said, these particular files are not in a breifcase, synching. For instance
half of a 2004 document directory moves to 2001 & at the same time all of
2003 moves @ the same time.

The whole office is being very careful/trying not to have this happen again.
However it's happening once or twice a week.

Thanks!

This is usually a "human problem"....someone dragging things where they
don't belong.
What kind of synchronization are you using - offline files?
Are the files moving to another share, or just different folders within the
same share?

Agreed, it usually is a human problem.... In this case I hesitate...
The synchronization is offline and breifcase. The files are moving to the
same share. Thanks for any input.

One more thought, is there any way for me to see which user last saved or
moved a file? I don't see anything on the server in the event logs or in the
properties on the file.
Thanks again!

I don't think you can audit stuff down to that level, honestly.
