Files invisible in folder

I have some incoming emails not showing up in my files. When I search for a
word within the email, the search list turns up the email and indicates what
folder it is in (and the date), yet the file is not present in that folder
when the main Outlook page is in view. Is there a way that files become
invisible or what might be happening here? I first saw this file on-line
before downloading it, but that surely cannot be part of this problem. Thank
you for help.

See if you don't have a filter set on your view. You might want to reset the
entire view.
