When I start up windows xp I get a message about a missing
file UNIDRV.DLL. Then I am suppose to browse to find it
but it new finds it and I don't know what to do. Also
there are several other "bugs" going on lately. When
Kicked off the internet by the provider (I think) it
looks like I am still connected on my computer. It
doesn't recognize that it is no longer online. I do have
McAffee an have run several scans with nothing found. I
have been getting an extreme amount of virus laddened e-
mail looking like it comes from Micro-soft Corp but I know
someone has set these up to look like that. Anyway
it "blocks" by e-mail from coming in and I have to call my
server and ask to have them removed. Is there anything
else I can do?

Run a spyware detecting program such as Spybot or Ad-aware (look on
download.com). Check you startup list for anything suspicious. If you want
you can post the list here, and I'll take a look at it.

Look for a copy in either
C:\Windows\Driver Cache\i386\driver.cab or
C:\Windows\Driver Cache\i386\sp1.cab
if you have SP1 installed - if that file is present look there first.

Either, d-click the .cab and look for the Unidrv.dll, double click it
and accept to extract to somewhere where you can easily browse to next
time you are asked (eg in C:\Windows). It may need to end up in more
than one place

Unfortunately there isn't. These spammed virus laden messages have been
swamping the net - MIcrosoft had to take its news servers out of use to
rebuild and add a degree of protection against it.. So did the people
who run our mvps.org mail - that server was getting 20 a *second*. And
some MVPs have been having hundreds a day to overload their mail boxes
too.
