Files and Settings Transfer Wizard

I had to re-format my hard drive, so I used the Files and Settings Transfer
Wizard to save all the settings info and documents from my hard drive to a
USB drive. However, when I go to restore the files and settings it tells me:

"The location that you specified does not contain stored information.
Please type a valid folder path into the edit box."

I can see the folder it created (USMT2.UNC) and the files (IMG00001 and
status), but it won't let me select them. What am I doing wrong? Please
help. I don't want to lose all my files. Thanks!

The .DAT file within the USMT2.UNC folder should be named IMG00001.DAT
There should also be a file named "status". If you have these two files within
the USMT2.UNC folder, you should only browse to the "USMT2.UNC" folder
when using the wizard.

==> Make sure your IMG00001 file is properly named: IMG00001.DAT

You need to browse to the location of the "USMT2.UNC" folder. Do not browse
to or select the IMG00001.DAT file, only the USMT2.UNC folder itself.

For example, my location is: D:\Old Computer Files\Transfers\USMT2.UNC

I, too, have the same problem.
Files and settings transfer wizard runs normally on the old computer.
USMTR2.UNC folder created that contains IMG00001.dat and status.
But when I run Files and Settings Transfer Wizard on the new computer and
select the folder USMTR2.UNC, it gives this error message.
This occurs if the USMTR2.UNC is on the old computer, new computer, or
another computer on the network.
Has a correction for this error been posted??

Rename your USMTR2.UNC folder to USMT2.UNC

Sorry, mis-typed -- It was USMT2.UNC
I found another post that said this error can occur if the versions of the
Files and Settings Transfer Wizard are not the same on both computers. Both
computers appeared to be up to date, but I downloaded KB896344 and installed
it on both machines, and it now works correctly.

Also, when you select the location of the USMT2.UNC, select the parent
folder (not the folder USMT2.UNC)
