FileBolter (quite a unique file searcher)

Ok, I just dug through my box and realized that I use this
pretty good file searcher but it has not been mentioned
before:

http://www.barbus.biz/products/fb/fb.html
"FileBolter is a freeware file search utilite.

To find the file(s) you're looking for sift your files via set
of bolters (filters) shown on the main window of the program.
For example filetime bolter selects the files that were
created/modified/opened between some dates.
Feature of the program is context bolter. Using graphical
designer you can make conditions to select files by context."

One thing I myself find it useful is that instead of doing a
bunch of "regular experssion", it has a quite powerful
"context search" (i.e., "file contains") - see the example on
the site.

I use something simpler on the day to day basis, but this one
is good to have around, as I remember needing to do "files
contain X and Y but not Z" OR "contain X and Y OR Q and T:
kind of searches from time to time and I used it. (about
700kb+).

When I tried to extract it on a win '98 system, I couldn't.
:-(

Error :

"Invalid character in the tag name. Line 1, position 20."

Could it be the file got corrupted? I use in in 98 first then
I upgraded to XP and reinstalled it, and it works fine in both
cases.

Corruption was my first thought. The unzipping process however
did start before I got that error. If I have a corrupt file my
unzipper usually says it is corrupt.

Downloading a new copy didn't work. Or writing to the people
who have the site. :-(

Regards, John.

Okay. Sorted. IIRC the copy I downloaded was 721kb. The one
I downloaded from Snapfiles was 722kb, and extracted okay. :)
Version was 4.2.1 . I don't know if that is the latest or not.

Regards, John.
