Author's site, a bunch of little progs

R

R. L.

When I visit this site the first time, years ago, was that to
get a newsreader monitor program. Upon a recent mention,
found that the author had a big update of the site and put a
bunch of little freeware in it; worth visiting:

http://www.twansoft.com/

(Since the list is long, some are in English some are not, I'd
save the cut and paste here and you could go to the site
itself or listing.)

Have you been able to download anything from here? The only links I can see
are to screenshots.

Yes, I have been wondering the same, too (I used to be able
to). Since I don't quite know that language, I thought some
links were linked to downloads, then I tried and found that
the download links are not working (I thought I was
downloading but it end up wasn't). I looked at the page
update time it listed as only a few days ago.

I am thinking that I will visit the page a week later to see
if the author has finished updating it; Yet this is the first
time I saw the author actually have a page of all of the
little proggies, I bet s/he must be working on it.

From the author's site : Het is eigenlijk een soort museumpje

It is some kind of a museum. The author says he doesn't find the time to
update his projects so he decided to left only the screenshots and
descriptions.

That's all ... no downloads.

No point to it then, is there? I would like the program spacy - it tells
you when a back up disk is getting full up. I have had instances in the past
when my back up disk is so full it become impossible to open anything. Is
there a comparable program that I could use

oh sorry I use WIN 98 - no task scheduler

I can write a simple one (it won't be "graphic), but if you
have disable task scheduler entirely and cannot use it to
launch the appl at an interval, you might need to launch it
manually to check the free space unless you *really* want
something like this to run in the backgroud. (Do you use ANY
other scheduler at all?)

Thank you for the offer but I think I will wait a bit longer to see what
else turns up. Afterall I have done without it for a few years now. However
others in this group mat benefit from such a little program.

Perhaps see if this is of use?

Note: to check the drive without the interface, set a shortcut
use the commandline option "auto" (without the quote).

Thanks to whoever put the program "Spaceleft" in here (I lost the massage).
However I did try it and found it not much use as it would not relay the
proper figures for the specified drive. In fact it just would not budge no
matter what drive letter I put in , auto or otherwise - it always reported
figures for drive C. Never mind I can always look in the Properties for the
given drive. it was more the alert though that I was interested in.

Hi, Paul, did you look at the .ini file inside the folder call
spacechk.ini? You can change your drive there. I have my entry
like this :

[option]
drive=A:
alertlevel=0.3

You also have to have the disk in the specified drive in order
for it to read (otherwise it will stick to the harddrive if it
cannot read the disk or give out error reading). In addition,
for now, after you changed the drive, you might have to restart
it for it to refresh. This, however, will be improved later.

I just think that it was a neat idea so I put it together
briefly to see if it would work. I think I myself can use it
too, to monitor optional clean up job of my drive. I use it to
clean my drive if freespace drop below certain level. In fact,
I have worked on it more after I uploaded it. I think it is a
neat idea so I might perhaps work on it a bit more and put out a
better version later (just for my own fun). If you have any
suggestions you could let me know.

Hey, Paul, I just uploaded a new one, and this one should be
much better, athough you might still find some bugs. Let me
know if you encounter any problems.

http://home.earthlink.net/~rl_freeware/spaceleft.zip

In addition, you can always change the two setting in the ini
file directly without going through the GUI.

Maybe you want to try :
type 'regsvr32 /u zipfldr.dll' in the run menu and reboot.

To restore:
run 'regsvr32 zipfldr.dll'

What does that do exactly? I *think* what happened to me could
be a confict I had with Filzip. I made the zip with Filzip
first, then after I update the script and I just drag the new
exe file into the zip in Explorer, that could have caused the
problem: the zip was first made with Filzip, but modify by XP
zip. Do you mean this would help on that?
