Hi,
I've found this file icon(~ file) showing up on desktops
throughout my office. I think it may be related to doing
the windows update of sp1.
Can anyone shed any light on this file?

It's a bug in a recent OE update. It happens when any changes are made
to your address book. It's the backup of the Address Book that should
have been named *.wa~ and placed in the same Windows folder as your
*.wab Address Book file.
You can move it, delete it, ignore it, hide it or rename it.
MS are aware and working on a fix.
