File will not open

I am unable to open an Excel file. When double clicking
the icon or trying to use the File Open command Excel
opens but the page is blank, no worksheet displayed, and
there is no associated file name. Notepad will display
characters, Word has a blank page and Quatro Pro will
crash when trying to open it with other programs.

We got the same symptom here on a whole group of files,
but I could not figure out why. did you ever find a
solution or reason why?
