File uploading

hello,
im trying to a competition running for the design of a logo there is a form
they must fill in when they are ready to submit there entry to the website i
have placed a file upload button in this form to upload the logo when i
inserted the file upload button i directed the pop up box to the folder i
created for this compotition and set the detail info into the _private
thing(this was there personal info) but when i test it on my website it asks
me for my username and pass to the website. can some one tell me what i am
doing wrong please i appreciate anything you give me thanx

You can't use the _private folder for that purpose.

You need to create a password protected subweb.
