File types blocked by policy reg

Using Word 2003 and get the error that the file type was blocked by your
registry policy settings in Word 2003. Performed the reg fix described on KB
938810 & 922849 but that fixes the current pc.
How you "fix" the word documents so if the docs are emailed the recipient
don't get that error? Tried to resave in the Word 2003 doing a "save As" but
still get that error......

If you are explicitly selecting "Word Document" as the file type, you should
be able to use Save As.

they are not saving but I found out that they were created in Word for
windows 2.0. Any converters out there that can help me with this files?

Once you've taken care of the blockage, Word should be able to open them
natively. Once you have opened them, you resave as "Word Document," which is
always the latest version (2003, 2007, whatever you have).
