File Transfer Wizard Problem

Just want give a very big thanks in advance for the help.

Here is the problem in short, and below is more detailed description on
what I have done.

*PROBLEM* File transfer wizard is not recognizing the img0001.dat or
any of the other img.dat files on a properly working external
harddrive. It tells me.."the location you spedified does not contain
stored infomation. Please type a valid folder path into the edit box"

*DETAILS*
So, I just reinstalled Windows XP Home. Before the reinstal I ran the
File and Settings Transfer wizard on the old O.S. and gatherd all the
settings and selected files and folders onto and external hard drive.
So I'm on the freshly installed O.S. and have the external harddrive
hooked up and running, so I go to run the Transfer Wizard as the new
computer, and point it to look in the removable drive and folder with
the img.dat files. I know there is data cause each img.dat file size
is 2gigs.

I have tried copying the files from the external hardrive to the main
harddrive and running the wizard on those files with no luck. I even
did a control experiment by gathering the settings from another
computer and running the wizard on those files getting the same error
as above.

So if anyone can help me how to get the wizard to read those img.dat
files that would be great.

Many Thanks,
Tim

thanks for the reply.

For some reason the migwiz.exe file got corrupted. So I copied over
the usmt folder from another computer and the file trasnfer worked
fine.

Now the question, how did that install file even get corrupted?
