I have Win XP Pro with all updates, etc. I have two internal HD - one is C:,
the second is running multiple logical drives (applications, data, etc.). I
have all user data in a logical drive on the second HD (slave), one of these
folders was password protected under the administrator's user account.
I experienced a system crash due to a corrupted device driver or abstraction
layer problem - at which time I was instructed to re-format C: and to
re-install Win XP Pro on the master drive. I had no problems restoring the
system, but I could not open the password protected folder on the slave drive
afterwards - despite using the same Admin and user names/passwords. Explorer
recognizes the folder but denies access when I attempt to open it.
Does anyone have an idea about how I can gain access to the files in this
folder? Are they lost now forever?
