I have reinstalled/repaired my OS twice and installed all
the updates/critical updates and patches and service
packs.
My disk cleanup and defrag were slow before this and now
the disk cleanup utility does not work at all and the
defrag takes 2 hrs when it took only 20 minutes before.
My file volume has not increased either. It's even less
now as the reinstall cleared all restore points. When I
run repair/disk check there are no reports of errors,
device manager shows no malfuctions. I just had my cd
drive replaced because it was malfunctioning not
installing any/all software properly, missing files (all
software installed properly on another computer). I did
a system diagnostic and virus scan both showed no errors.
Activity log does show that application failed to load
for disk. I am at a loss of what to do? Should I do a
complete/clean OS uninstall and reinstall and see if the
problems still occur then conclude it is the PC itself,
mother board malfunction? Help!
