Outlook Not Functioning properly, PLEASE HELP

when I start outlook, most of the time now, It does not work properly in the
following ways.
1. emails will not show their content in the preview page
2. reminders will not appear at all
I have tried 'repairing' Office 2007 multiple times. After a repair it
sometime starts working normally again, but then after restarting the
computer starts malfunctioning again.
I recently uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2007 but the problem continues
to occur.
I am running Vista and Office 2007 with plenty of memory and hard disk space.

This sounds very much like an issue being caused by having a virus scanner
integrated with Outlook. Disable your virus scanner's integration with
Outlook and see if newly arrived emails are displayed properly now . In some
cases, this means needing to reinstall your virus scanner.

This sounds like a problem I've had occur three or four times. I, too, am
running Vista and Outlook 2007. It seems to be associated with doing
considerable work in Contacts, then trying to access Mail. The Preview Pane
in Mail contains a portion of the Contacts display.

On one occasion I sought tech help and the tech entered my machine and
cleaned out a whole bunch of temp files and the problem went away. I asked
about doing that myself, and was told not to.

On another occasion I just re-installed Microsoft Office and the problem
went away.

Has anyone else reported this type of problem?

OUtlook has mysteriously started working properly again, I don't know for how
long. Could disabling the virus scanner have taken a while to kick in? thanks
for the advice at any rate.
