After compressing pictures as much as possible and saving, the file size is
still very large. How can I reduce the file size? The presentation is 3
slides with 4 tiny pictures. The original file size of the pictures was large.

Hi

I find paste special is the best way to reduce file sizes caused by big
images: get the image the right size then cut, edit->paste special->jpg or
png. Also check you have fast saves turned off: tools->options->save->untick
allows fast saves

It isn't always picture size that bloats a presentation (though it may be).
Have a look here for some suggestions:

Why are my PowerPoint files so big? What can I do about it?

In addition to the adjust pictures, audio and etc in the PowerPoint
file, you can
try the all-in-one solution.
For example, PowerPoint compressor or convert PowerPoint to Flash.

To convert PowerPoint to Flash, you have two options.
1. Free conveter to convert PowerPoint to static Flash
Powerbullet Presenter
http://www.powerbullet.com/
2. Commercial converter to convert PowerPoint to anmiated Flash
PPT2Flash Standard
