You trying to send a wave format file ?

If so, vonvert it to mp3 or WMA. As long as its less than 5Mb it should get
through.

There is free software available on the web, do a Google search for a
converter.

Hello again Jerry:
I see I need more help - if you could . . . some of the files say mp3 -
others say Windows Media. I thought I could just go to File options and
change the extension. Can't do that? Must I have the software you are
talking about?

MP3 and Windows Media (WMA) are already compressed. Changing the
extension will make the music file inoperable. You can cut the file
into pieces to email them with below program. Your party on the other
end will need the program also to put it back together. Some ISP's (Internet
Service Providers) will allow files to be sent up to 10Mb but your recipient
may not have that option, check yours and your friends.
