I am running a home network with two Win XP machines. Both machines have the
Guest account turned on and are running Norton Internet Security with
exceptions set to alllow the machines to bypass the firewalls. Both machines
are set to allow sharing of the C: drive. What security holes will be
created if I now connect ato the internet through the USB port on one of the
machines and use ICT to allow the other to access the internet.

Im guessing you mean ICS not ICT. Running Norton should be enough as long as
you have your ports stealthed. I think the hardest thing you will deal with
is trying to get ICS working with your USB modem. I have never been able to
get that configuration, or seen it work for that matter, to work.

If you cant get ICS to work for you try one of these Internet Sharing Server
Proxies:
1. Wingate- http://www.wingate.com

2. Winroute Firewall- http://www.deerfield.com/products/winroute-firewall/

3. WinProxy- http://www.winproxy.com/index.asp

4. PPPShar- http://www.pppindia.com/intl/pppshar/

5. CCProxy- http://www.youngzsoft.net/ccproxy/

6. EzProxy-

7. Analogx Proxy-

Also to check your Internet vulnerabilities try some of these test sites:
