File sharing

help please - bit of a wireless newbie here!

Have just set up a media centre pc with a wireless router. my laptop runs
successfully off the shared broadband connection. however I am struggling
with sharing files & folders and more importantly my music library via said
laptop. I just cannot get it to share. Can anybody help. Thanks in advance

To add the Netbios protocoll within NIC settings often solves it.

Same workgroup and folders shared ?

Are you running latest firmware within your router ?

I recommend using the network setup wizards.

What software are you running that might be providing a firewall which might
need opening--possibilities include Windows Live OneCare, a "suite" product
from Symantec or McAfee, or lots of others.
