In Windows XP (on both versions of XP Home and Pro), is
there a way to Just enable File Sharing? I see that
Enable File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks is
checked in the components installed under the Local Area
Network Connection Properties. I just want file sharing
enabled if that is possible.

Do you mean that you don't want to share any printers? If so, go to
Control Panel | Printers and Other Hardware | Printers and Faxes and
un-share any printers that are already shared (right click |
Properties | Sharing).
