When I right click on a file folder and then left click
on "Sharing & Security" no dialog box comes up to permit
sharing (as it does on my other computer with XP).

Do I have to set or reset some parameter somewhere else?

Larry

Right click and select Properties. You should see the Sharing tab. If
you're running XP Pro, in Windows Explorer go to Tools, Folder Options, View
and uncheck Use Simple File Sharing. Now you should see the Sharing and
Security tabs.

I tried that and it didn't fix the problem. No dialog
box comes up. What's next?

Larry

Are you saying you don't even get the full Properties dialog? If so, and
you're running Internet Information Services on this computer, uninstall
IIS, then reinstall it.

Doug,

Thanks so much. That fixed the problem.

I have had numerous other suggestions about how to fix
it, but apparently it was the IIS.
