Hi,
After running XP home for about a week, I hit an unexpected problem
During Windows startup, chkdsk runs after a 10 second timeout
It returns a list a results "File record segment 28824 is unreadable". This line is repeated until the figure 28864 is reached, the task ends and the computer freezes
If I switch off - on, and don't skip chkdsk, then all above is repeated
If I switch off - on, and skip chdsk, I'm into windows ok
I don't what any of this means, I'm keen to get "it" fixed
Am I in the right area to get help on this? Can anyone help
Many thanks
Bryan
