Yayo,
This is the link you want - I have simply pasted the direct link that
"Elmo" was pointing you to, into this post :
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/folderproperties.reg
So, click on this link and choose "Save to disk" - then go to where you just 'saved'
it to and double-click on the file - folderproperties.reg - and choose [Yes] when
prompted.
This will restore the 'Folder Options' item under the 'Tools' menu in Windows
Explorer.
It's to complicated to explain how to restore the 'Folder Options' in the 'Control
Panel' - but, if you create a new shortcut on your desktop by right-clicking on an
empty area of the desktop and choosing 'New' > 'Shortcut'.
Then, in the box marked : "Type the location of the item:" 'copy and paste' the
following text :
rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Options_RunDLL 0
...then click on [next]
Type in "Folder Options" for the name on the next page then click on [Finish]
This shortcut will function in the same way as the one in control panel.
After creating the shortcut, you might want to change it's icon to that of the
original - go into the shortcut's properties (r-click > properties) and click on the
'Change Icon' button.
Clear the box with the current icon file-name in it and click on [ok]
This will bring up the default icon choices (shell32.dll) scroll along until you come
to an icon that looks like an open folder with a reddish 'tick' on top of it.
Click on the chosen icon and then on [ok] to close.
*P.S. If you email me directly - I will attach all the files - the Kelly's reg fix,
the shortcut to 'Folder Options' and a fix for the missing 'Folder Options' in the
'Control Panel' - to a reply.
