File Order in Subfolder Changes Automatically

I have a subfolder under My Pictures in My Documents. The files in this
subfolder are shown as thumbnails and the Arrange Icons As setting is set as
modified.

Each time I copy this subfolder to another computer the file order changes
somewhat, even though I keep all the settings the same.

What is going on? What do I have to do to maintain the file order
(thumbnails) as is?

Saved view settings are kept in the registry, not in the folder. They won't be copied to another computer.
