Sometimes after I have checked my e-mails and close
outlook an archive file pops up on my desktop with the
file name "~". I just delete it, but I don't know what
it is, why it gets placed on my desktop or how to stop it
from happening?

It doesn't happen every time? Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Andy

If you read ~ using notepad you will see that it contains
part of your address book. I did submit ~ to Noton they
said it was not a virus, but looks suspiciously like a
file that a virus or trojan would try to send back
somewhere. Is there a knowedge base entry on ~ ?
