I would like to be able to see the file name extensions (ie mybudget.xls or newletter.txt) on all files when I am in Explore. I can't find where to turn it on/off.

Help!

Thanks

There are several settings that control this behavior.

In Windows Explorer, select Tools/Folder Options/View Tab.

Enable the option "Show hidden files and folders" and disable the option
"Hide extensions for known file types".
