File is Not in Recognizable Format

Hi, I wrote a spreadsheet in 2007 and sent it to someone who uses
2000. They could not open it. One error message said it was marked
read only and the other said:

"File is not in a Recognizable Format"

I've sent the same spreadsheet to someone using 2007 with no problems.

How can I correct this?

Save it in the xl97-xl2003 (*.xls) format.
