File in use problem

I am out of the Excel spreadsheet but the excel program say I am still in it.
I can not delete the file becuase it says I am in the file but I am not in
the file. Everytime I open up the file it is only in read only but I want to
figure out why does excel think I am still in the program. I already went to
the task manager and ended all processes with EXCEL.exe. Any help would be
nice.
