File: HPVDJ50.INI needed?

Guest

I am trying to install a HP 812c DeskJet Printer. I am using XP Pro. I do not
have the installation disk, the computer was given to me. When I try to
install the printer I get this message: The File HPVDJ50.INI on windows XP
CD-Rom is needed?
Questions:
1) What is this message telling me?
2) Does this message mean I cannot install this printer?
3) Or, is there a way to install this printer, and if so, what needs to be
done to correctly install this printer.
Thank you, Steve

Do a Search on your machine for HPVDJ50.INI to see if it exists on the
machine somewhere.

See this....

Also see if this helps.

Also get the latest HP drivers for HP 812c DeskJet Printer. That should
include the HPVDJ50.INI file.

The XP default location is the XP CD. But XP couldn't find the
initialization file and prompted for the XP CD.

You can probably download the needed drivers, including the .ini file
from HP. Once you do that, run the installer you downloaded. If asked
for the XP CD again, redirect the search to whatever folder you decided
to install the HP drivers to.
