"File download" dialog appears behind calling application

I'm running Windows XP and using Lotus Notes (don't
laugh.. business decision nothing to do with me). When a
file needs to be downloaded via a link in an email, the
FILE DOWNLOAD dialog box doesn't appear and the PC seems
to have crashed. It hasn't, the FILE DOWNLOAD dialog box
has appeared behind the calling application and needs you
to ALT+TAB to bring it to the front. Has anyone any idea
why this is happening and more importantly how to resolve
this problem?

I've seen this type of behavior with Anti-Virus Office plug-ins.
Not exactly your situation, but where a password box for a
document would not get the focus. I would check for updates
for both your Anti-Virus and Notes patches/updates.

Yeh! I thought it was funny too until I had to work with

Dear Mr McCarty,
I hadn't thought of that. I can check on the AV versions,
but company policy is we're stuck with Notes v5 and that's
what I've to work with. McAfee here we come!
