Hi All,

I have been using Vallen JPegger and Macromedia Dreamweaver for a
couple of years with no problem under WindowsXP Home SP2.

About 2 months ago I did a clean install of WindowsXP Professional
SP2 (retail). Today I tried to load Vallen JPegger, and the
directory tree on the left would not work properly.

A few hours later I tried loading Macromedia Dreamweaver, and the
file directory tree on the right will not work.

The file file trees work in ALL of my other programs.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Ciao . . . C.Joseph

How are you trying to install these programs - why/how are displaying
directory trees part of the installation process?

Hi steam3801,

Both programs install properly. The install files are both EXE files
on my hard disk.

When you run Vallen JPegger, the window that comes up is broken into
3 frames on the left side of the window, in the upper frame is the
the directory tree. Directly below that is a list of files in the
currently highlighted directory above. The problem is that if you
click or double-click on the directory, it doesn't show any of the
subdirectories. If you click on the '+' next to the drive name, it
does not expand and show the subdirectories, the '+' sign simply
disappears.

If I put a picture file in the root directory of any of the drives,
it does show the filename in the lower left file list and the
thumbnail is shown in the thumbnail frame on the right.

I have uninstalled and removed all references to the program in the
registry and reinstalled the program with no success. I have other
picture viewers so it is no great hardship, I just like Vallen
JPegger best.
