File date/time stamps of Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 CD + ntoskrnl.exe question

Hello,

I recently slipstreamed Windows XP SP2 and, to make the final CD
"polished", set the date and time stamps to those of my offical
Microsoft SP2 CD (08/04/2004 12:00, says 13:00 when DST is active).

I am now seeking to create an installation CD of Windows 2000 SP4. And
I would like it to have "tidy" time-stamps like my XP CD. I understand
it's a daft request which doesn't really affect the installation
procedure, but could someone with a Windows 2000 SP4 CD or an official
integrated CD inform me of the timestamps on the CDs' files?

I am a hobby Cd maker so that's why I like uniform time-stamps. If
there are any helpful folks out there I would be glad of your reply!

Thanks in advance,
Daniel Vonboles

The timestamps on my SP4 CD are 06/20/2003 08:00. You're not planning to
set the timstamps on the unmodified files to match the SP4 files, are you?
I would consider that a bad thing to do.

That is risky. Patches identify modules to replace by date and size.
At least the Knowledge Base articles often mention the date and size
of modules that are affected. I'm not sure if the patches actually use
that information.

Cheers,

Well, I got the files from an x-in-1 DVD, and their timestamps had
already been changed to some time in 2001 (same date as an XP Home CD
I have, 23/08/2001 12:00 I think), so they weren't correct for Windows
2000 anyway.
If I burn them to CD normally like they are now, they will all have
an incorrect date anyway. So I think I might use the one which you
provided.
As I mentioned later, I get an NTOSKRNL.EXE error after the first
stage of setup. This might be because of the wrong date from the DVD?
Although, as I said, I made an XP CD with the dates of 04/08/2004,
12:00. This might well be the date of new M$ XPSP2 CDs? But that CD
works fine.
I will try to determine the cause of the error, but would be glad
for help. I did not realise that the installer cares about file
dates, I was just seeking to make a "tidy" CD.
Maybe the dates on my XP Cd are wrong, I just made it to match the
SP2 disc! And I cannot find an integrated SP4 copy of Win2K. I
greatly appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks again!
