To compliment the startup database, I'm in the middle of creating a Filetype database. There are loads of questions like "how do I play an .xyz file" or "how do I open .xyz" etc...

Just wondering if you think this would be a good idea, and what sort of information you'd like to see in it? :)

ian, good idea mate but someone else already thought of it.

best site i've found for file extentions - http://filext.com/

don't think you'll beat this one. ;)

very useful when customers ask me what to do with a file with an extention something similar to "!"£$%^&*()OKITREDFVGH)(*^%$ER.

Ah, now that site does look good. This one will probably be a little simpler, for example covering movie file, compressed etc... filetypes with a bit of explanatory text.

That site is bookmarked now, nice find!
