file corrupt messages

When downloading receive "file corrupt errors" Unable to download from web
or install from CD's as all files are corrupt. Have emptied all temp files
and now what??

Try installing xp cd,exit the menu page,go to run,type:cmd In cmd type:
Sfc /Scannow When its thru,type:CHKDSK C: /F Agree to restart,type:EXIT
Remove cd,restart pc...

It seemed to work a bit. Now I get "file can't be unpacked and executable
corrupted."
Also, my hp printer won't install.

I'll appreciate your help in this matter. I will keep working on it.
 
New update:

Win media ll won't install but real player is fine downloaded. Can't
install nero for DVD, some do and some don't thinking of formating and
starting over. any suggestions?
