file copying still slow

i tried applying the fix suggestions in this group but copying files to and
from my w2k server is still very slow.
the fix involved adding some keys to the server's registry.
any other ideas?

What OS is the client running? Is the server a Domain Controller? How are
you doing file copies? Explorer? Are they slow in a command window using
copy of xcopy? What registry changes have you made?

How are you doing file copies? Explorer?

the changes described in the first article you linked to.

Have you looked at the NIC and port settings? If one is
set to autodetect and the other is set to 100 Half, it's
going to be slow.

Try making the port 100 Full and the NIC 100 Full (that is
if your NIC can handle it, but you get my drift).

I just had that issue last week and it worked GREAT.
Can you put a sniffer on the system and see if you are
getting errors?

i don't really do server admin.
