Well you see Tom, yesterday was a busy day in the newsgroups.
Today, I had some time to go over and reread some of the posts,
mellow out a bit, then take a few moments to post back.

And to think, all you had to do was be man enough in the beginning of this thread to do what you just did. But honestly, do you
think your sincerity now is to be taken seriously, when you couldn't admit it the first, second, third or fourth time?

Yes Steve, you are correct. In this instance, my original
reply to the OP was not as thorough as it should have been.
Honestly, your answer was the better one! My sincere
apologies for not offering a more thorough reply.

Now, can we just move on and help some folks who
really need some help? The OP has solved his issue,
thanks to your outstanding ability to offer a solution
that I should have offered in the first place!

And personally, thank you for some of the advice
that will indeed help with my postings in the future!

You are most welcome if anything I have written here has been of benefit
to you in any way, even if much of it was rather back-handed. For that,
I apologize, but you've got to admit, I got your attention, didn't I?
;)

Thank you, Carey Frisch [MVP] for listening to me. You've proven to be
the honorable man I'd hoped you were by making this post, and I
sincerely appreciate it.

Yes, let's move on and keep up the good work here. Hopefuly we will all
improve with time and practice.

"Look, Carey, I'm not really trying to attack you personally, but
dog-gone it, you have got some really bad habits and I and others have
tried in various ways to point them out to you. Are you really so dense
and/or egotistical to summarily dismiss such criticisms without
considering that some of them may actually have valid points that you
might be able to learn something from and (heaven forbid!) actually
IMPROVE your performance here? Come on! Nobody can possibly be that
arrogantly egotistical to believe they are as perfect as you apparently
believe yourself to be. No one is above reproach, not even you.

I dare you to be honest."

My reply:

Indeed, many of the criticisms of my contributions to the Microsoft newsgroups
do not fall on deaf ears. I sometimes get a bit cranky, edgy, defensive, etc., put then
I reflect back and do my best to make adjustments. And believe it or not, it was
some of the harshest and/or sarcastic criticisms that made me take note! I am also
a Taurus, and as a stubborn "bull", I'm a bit slow to readjust. Apparently, I was
nominated twice for an MVP award a few years ago, but never got it. I made
some significant adjustments and finally earned the award, but it took a lot
of determined effort. Now that I have earned the award, it is incumbent upon me
to become even more proficient and accurate with my posts, and to reflect a positive
attitude toward Microsoft and Microsoft products (although I'm not at all pressured
to do so). So, there you have it.

Thank you Carey. Honest enough for me. Sorry it sometimes takes a sharp
stick to get the attention, but whatever works, eh?

You have demonstrated your honesty and intentions and I respect that.

While we're sharing, I've never been nominated for anything and have had
to work very hard for everything in my life, which is just fine by me.
Keeps me honest.

Oddly enough, my dad had a job doing that when he was a kid. They had
this machine that had rubber fingers where you held the chicken by the
legs and slapped it down on the fast moving cylinder. I dont think the
chicken was completely dead tho.

You're quite right Tom, back on 8-14-2002 I did not really
know what the definition of a "sycophant" was. I still don't
know! And FYI, I was not an MVP at that time either.

So!

Does NOT being an MVP excuse one from not availing themselves to use proper grammar, and to (at least) use a better vocabulary? Don't use the MVP distinction as something that can preclude you from being better in any category, whether you held the title or not.

In any event, I have washed my hands of this thread.

Hey Tom, give it a rest; i.e. "Game over, man!"

Good.

LMAO!, this from a guy, who wouldn't let up until Carey shed blood for him! You should take your own words and eat them, you fückchop!

Good? LOL, see you still wanted to not only get Carey, but I guess you didn't feel satisfied until you could say something to Tom (or someone else to get in the last word!).

I labored the issue to get certain points across, Carey finally got what
I meant and was an honorable man about it, for which I thanked him. Tom
apparently wanted to keep at it. If you'd have been paying attention
you'd know that Carey apologized, I apologized for my back-handed way of
getting his attention, we both decide to drop it and move on.

This had nothing to do with getting the "last word in". I wanted to make
it clear the issue has been resolved as far as I was concerned.

No, he said he didn't know what the word meant. I didn't either so I
looked it up. I doubt Carey felt insulted by me posting it.

You could ask him yourself and while you're at it ask him if he want's
you to keep insulting me in his "defense".

Maybe you could find something better to do, like learn some new words
yourself, instead of making up immature insults with the F word in them.
