File and Transfer Wizard

GRRRRRRR! I have both old and new pcs hooked up proberly through a serial cable, just like my instructions say to. Both Pcs found eachother. After all data is colleced from the old pc it just keeps running with no more progress. I left it working overnight to no avail. hOW DO I GET THIS PROGRAM TO FINISH IT'S JOB? I am transfering from a 98 packard bell with Win 98 to a Compaq presario 2004 running XP. Please help me! Ty, Kristie

Does your XP machine have the Service Pack 1 update? You will need to have
SP1 update on the XP machine. Get that update and try it again.
