Feedback Form Reply-to Line not working

G

Guest

New to FrontPage. By filling in the form properties at Feedback form>form
properties>options>eMail Results "email message header section. The Subject
Line works perfect! (not a form field name). The Reply-to line "SendToEmail"
which is a form field name and has the appropriate box checked does not work.
When I receive notivication in my mailbox that feedback has arrived the To
column says "unlisted-recipients:;no To-header on input". The subject column
reads exactly as it should (Feedback Results). I would like the To column to
have the form submitter's email address in the To column to reply to. (I can
get it from the body of the message, but from what I'm reading in several
how-to set up Frontpage that this should work).

Can't be done with the standard FP form handler, because you are getting the email from the "server"
not the person who filled out the form.

If you have a field on the form where the sender enters their email address, and you have designated
this as the "reply to field" in form properties, when you click reply, the senders address will
automatically populate the To: field in your email client.

when you get one of those messages with the odd stuff in the from line, hit
reply and see what happens.
often the server puts on the "from" address but the reply still works.

I have a textbox on the form named:SendToEmail that is a required field to
enter a user's email address. This is the field that I'm expecting to gather
the sender's email address and put it in the To column of my email (Outlook
Express 6)to Reply to. What am I missing? -Sharonky

Wish it had worked - but didn't. Thanks.

When you received the email from the form, what happen when you click on Reply To sender in Outlook
Express?

You have enter the Field name exact as assigned to the field that a user would type in the email
address, and it is a one line text box and all form fields are within the opening and closing form
tags, and you have checked that all fields are to be included in the results under form properties,
correct?

then make sure the name of the field for the reply to line in the form
properties matches the form field name exactly.

can you post the url of this form?

Try changing the format for sending email back to text, instead of HTML, which is not supported by
the FP Form Handler for sending email.

The "To" column shows the name/email of the address where the mail is being sent, which would be you
or whatever email address you set the form up to be sent to, correct? The from address, will always
be whatever the web host has set the server up use, that is why you have to click the Reply-To sent
button in order to reply to the person that completed the form.
