I am fairly new to XPe and I am having trouble building an image for a new
device.

The last line of setupapi.log show the following error:

#-198 Command line processed: D:\WINDOWS\system32\snetcfg.exe -l
D:\WINDOWS\inf\nettcpip.inf -c p -i MS_TCPIP
#W082 Could not locate a non-empty service section
[MS_NETBT_SMB.PrimaryInstall.Services] in "d:\windows\inf\nettcpip.inf".
Error 0xe0000102: The required line was not found in the INF.

This same error shows up in other logs where FBA ran successfully. FBA stops
here every time on the new device.

The target device is running XP pro without any problems. I have tried many
different configurations of devices and components to no avail. If anyone
can recommend a process for figuring out the problem I would sincerely
appreciate it.

Thanks,

Jason

Jason,

It sounds like its a bad inf.Should you recopy the inf from a full xp
,are you facing the same problem ? Are you using any kind of Wireless
Network cards like Cisco,Orinocco etc ..

I tried grabbing the INF from XP Pro. No Luck.

I am not using any wireless nics. the only ethernet card is a Realtek RTL
8310 chip on the system board.

Is there any way to create an image without networking?

After you import the pmq file, remove the components listed as below:

u RAS Async Adapter

u WAN Miniport (IP)

u WAN Miniport (L2TP)

u WAN Miniport (PPPOE)

u WAN Miniport (PPTP)

u Your Network Card Driver

Check dependencies and build the image again.

Jason,

Did i understand your question as removal of networking components
or the component that includes this inf..
Well go ahead and remove the components that includes
them.Additionally first u need to understand the dependecies that the
component incluudes .After thant make sure that all the dependencies
are removed.

Kesavan

Actually, I am going to remove networking from the image in hopes of getting
FBA to run completely. In truth, the unit will be be utterly useless without
networking components. I am hoping to isolate the problem through a (long)
process of elimination.

Thanks for your suggestions. I will let you know how I go.
